The Triforce of Analytical Genius

I’ve been quite busy over the last few days, and also my sleep patterns have been sporadic (“sporadic” is one of my favourite words, and was “Word of the Day” once according to Dictionary.com). Yup, it’s that time of year again, it’s Coursework Deadline Week! My digger project has come along quite nicely, I got it finished on time, and I also have the motivation to carry on improving it over the holiday!

My Systems Analysis work is the next on the list, I have to finish my descriptions of the “Functional Requirements” of the Air Traffic Control systems for Heathrow Airport by tomorrow. If you knew how these guys landed planes, you’d never fly again! Only joking! It’s almost done, got to tidy it up a bit, so it can be joined with the other document pieces our team are writing. For some reasons, I have visions of each member weilding their part, having obtained them through ordeals of flame and terror. Standing proud and battle-hardened, we raise each piece aloft, where they begin to glow and float together… Merging with each other, they form a golden document of Analytical Genius!

This can only mean one thing… I’ve been playing too much Zelda: Majora’s Mask! I recently obtained this, and an emulator to play it on, and I can’t believe I missed out on this one! Again, totally the wrong time to discover something so cool, as it has been eating considerable parts of my time (and probably my soul, too). I have been trying to track down the ROM of Blast Corps, one of the more original games to come out of Rare. Never have I tried so hard to track down the ROM of a game I actually own!

As I enter the final week of my term, I am getting more and more excited, but all that energy is spent on the things it shouldn’t be. Roll on Friday the 13th, is all I can say. The sooner I finish all my work, the sooner I can avoid not doing it by being distracted by things. Like Ryzom. I have recently rekindled my passion for beta-testing, and this one looks amazing. It reminded me of Albion, a very absorbing and immersive RPG that hooked me with incredible attention to detail, and a game world you could lose yourself in, just by examining the environment. They don’t make ‘em like they used to…
