PowerPoint Wizzard

February 6th, 2003 12:00

huge sigh of relief Well, today was the day our Systems Analysis group had to present a walkthrough to another group, about our design ideas. I’ve been stressing about it all week, I hate standing in front of people I don’t know and talking. It didn’t help having an extra bunch in the room from another group who couldn’t be bothered to turn up for their session in the morning. Due to my want to get out of there as fast as possible, I was too brief on my slides which meant that the presentation fell short of the expected run time by about 8 minutes.

The rest of the group handled very well, despite a few hiccups. Adam was a great help, he’s a wizzard with Powerpoint. Without his help, our visual aids would probably have looked like the work of a four year-old on a pre-release alpha version of Microsoft Paint. He’s spending reading week in America with his girlfriend, the lucky git. By the way, I suggest you read his weblog, it’s a sleek looking pad with lots of nice pictures of all the cool places he has been to.

I would like to kick back and spend the next few days relaxing after having this weight taken off my shoulders, but I have another meeting tomorrow, to talk about fun fun design documents. So much for R+R. Anyway, enough complaining! You know you’re a geek when you look at your laptop and see a message on the terminal from someone asking you to pop a music CD in their computer… Daf has mounted his drives in such a way that he can listen to his music remotely. Very cool.

I haven’t gotten around to making the latest batch of snow pictures ready, I’m still playing with the general functionality of stuff. Be wary of changes… Speaking of which, Dave has changed his layout again, so that he can show more pr0n anime backgrounds. His place keeps looking better and better.

Expect higher quality:content ratios during weekends.

I am a lucky git :p but I'll try to contribute to the design document from here. It's snowing half the time, but cos I'm in central Richmond (more than a bit ghetto) it ends up looking less winter wonderland and more Early Frozen Hobo. Enjoy your revengeful relaxation during lobster week :) -A

  • Hmmm... I see there is some craziness going on here. It says 6 but there are 3... I will fix! By the way, hope things are cool in Merka, I'll email you some stuff tomorrow. :)

  • Ah, I found out what was broke, your comments contained newlines in them, which are the characters which my prog uses to count the number of comments. Have fixed! Newlines away!!! -Dave
