Marmalade and Mustard

I am one step closer to achieving my goal of ultimate l33tness. Balthazar (my laptop), has had Debian installed on it over the weekend, and Windows 2000 has been removed. As soon as the PCMCIA bugs have been ironed out, world domination is only a few steps away… The kernels we compile here are usually name-appended with some kind of running theme. It used to be Nethack, so we’ve had Leocrotta, Gridbug, Mjolnir, among others. The kernels we’ve komperneled for Balthazar have all been named after Lovecraftian monsters. We started with Shoggoth, then moved onto Dhole, and I am currently running Migo. I don’t think we’ve had any worthy of the Greater Deities yet…

Last Thursday the Sci-Fi society went to see the latest Star Trek film, “Nemesis”. We managed to get a minibus arranged, which was quite fun, and the tickets were paid for by our account. About the film, I’ll tell you one thing; it provides lots of ‘debatable’ material for avid Sci-Fi fans and scientists. Ah, the joys of discussing mistakes in Film Physics…

Today Daf and I went shopping. This isn’t exactly an amazing or novel, but I did take my camera with me, and have captured some pictues of jam for your viewing pleasure.

Daf, looking at marmalade. Me, looking at mustard.

I apologise if any of the text on the site loads strangely, my machine currently thinks it is in Japan, and I can’t be bothered to remind it otherwise. The input locales keep changing, and a “1” written in the Japanese locale is different to a normal “1”. So beware.
